Monday, February 15, 2021 - Birthday at Blankiet: Naturally tight today, the 2018 Mythicvs may prove in time to be a perfect wine. It is already more expressive than the 2018 Prop Red and Rive Droite (though they are outstanding), and falls just short of the Dunn 2017 El Camino for my best sip of 2021 Q1. The Mythicvs has it all: soaring aromatics, intense blue and red fruit, a long list of flavor notes, including brown spices, laurel, charcoal, and herbes de provence, gorgeous structure, and infinite finish. It evokes both elegance and unbridled joy—until I remember that I only had a single bottle allocation. I guess I'll target the midpoint of its drinking window? See y'all around 2035!
