Saturday, January 30, 2021 - No decant - Popped and enjoyed over the course of 3-4 hours. Ruby center fading to Pale Ruby on the edges. Nose was fairly closed at first, but eventually opened up to some strawberry/raspberry gummy fruit snacks with some dark flowers in the background. On the palate all of that was reinforced. I just kept thinking of alcoholic red gummy snacks. At the right temperature, the mouth feel was pretty nice with lots of fruit on the mid palate and some acidity and light tannins giving some structure, but nothing too in-your-face. I read previous notes about the alcohol being too high - I definitely would have preferred lower alcohol, but at the same time, it didn't feel out of balance with the rest of the elements. Overall, I definitely enjoyed this, and would be open to trying some of the single vineyards down the road.
