Tuesday, December 25, 2018 - PnP. Dark purple with a bit of tea in the meniscus. Nose of cassis and blackberry jam, oak and earth. Fruity at first, and then becomes woodier over time. Medium-bodied and concentrated with a velvety, smooth. mouth-coating texture. Rather feminine, elegant and subtle with surprisingly bright acidity and soft, fine-grained tannins. In the background, eucalyptus along with a hint of vanilla and anise. California-ripeness with a Bordeaux-like structure. I liked it a bit better when it was younger and more powerful, but this seems to have settled into a comfortable plateau. I don't think there is any upside to waiting longer.
