9/6/2015 10:38:00 PM - Thanks for your note. We noticed you also sipped the Gruaud Larose. How do you compare Talbot to Gruaud Larose, particularly this vintage?

9/7/2015 1:46:00 PM - do you mean the langoa barton? Of the three st julien 2006 tried at this tasting was the leoville which I liked the best and also has most mileage left. The Langoa felt more like earlier drinking than both the leoville and the talbot. Which is the better between Langoa and Talbot? They were very different in style, and the langoa while not the most serious wine out there, did what it does rather well. I felt it is what it is, while the Talbot may still develop further, with a little question mark that if you like elegant, classic style clarets, which many of the 2006 are, this felt more like an outlier. if that makes any sense?

9/7/2015 5:17:00 PM - Thanks for your note. We apologise. We meant the Beycheville. We do not, sadly, have any 2006 Langoa Barton...perhaps we should remedy that!

Useful comments regarding the Talbot, a wine with which we have annual experience as it was the first time we sipped a bottle that cost a little more than a little...especially for us nearly 20 years ago. We have two cases of the 2006 so it will be fun to sip in the coming years.
