Sunday, May 13, 2018 - Popped this 5 years too young. There's some damp cellar funk and dead roses on the nose. A good hour decant should tame this down. On the palate however, this is primarily all red fruit. Acid is relatively high for the vintage and the grip is assertive but not excessive. Tannins seem to have subsided a bit from what I see in other reviews. I still think this is in the very early stages of maturity and should develop for 10 years and gradually decline for another 10.

If you like pure fruit, save your money and go buy a good Langhe. If you like mature Barbaresco, wait on this. It's got enough extract and structure to develop nicely. Good, if not, long-term effort.
