Nose sweetening before first sip, on which there's leathers and red fruits and diffuse, fine tannin. Approachable. Possessed of a fine-ness. Was this my first Gaja? At any rate, none of the over-extracted "modern-ness" I thought that those wines were known for. Good wine.
