Tuesday, July 4, 2023 - PnP. ABV 13.5%. €51 before shipping charges and taxes. Shipment just arrived this afternoon, it’s a young Syrah, who cares about travel shock. Really dark in color, almost dark purple. Bit of “longkang” smell initially, followed with flower and stem notes, seemed sweet on the nose too. Soft and sweet tannins, a little spicy too. Lively with vibrant acidity. Wide open and delicious. Good length and complexity, nothing like a Cotes du Rhone, more like a Cote Rotie really. Well made wine, then again it’s a Jamet, shouldn’t surprise anyone.
