PnP. ABV 13.5%. €51 before shipping charges and taxes. Shipment just arrived this afternoon, it’s a young Syrah, who cares about travel shock. Really dark in color, almost dark purple. Bit of “longkang” smell initially, followed with flower and stem notes, seemed sweet on the nose too. Soft and sweet tannins, a little spicy too. Lively with vibrant acidity. Wide open and delicious. Good length and complexity, nothing like a Cotes du Rhone, more like a Cote Rotie really. Well made wine, then again it’s a Jamet, shouldn’t surprise anyone.

hints of bacon on this wine which thus must have some serious Syrah in it.sweet / sappy fruit, this is undeniably delicious and though aint cheap for a cotes du rhone, I recommend it. drinks More like a cote rotie

Too young but would be great in a few years - Used Coravin aerator and triple decanted with glasses lol
Opaque dark ruby with purple On the nose, grilled meats to begin with, then pepper, spices, violets On the palate, very elegant black cherries, blueberries, liquor ice, bitter finish High acidity Long finish
Cola on the nose in about 20mins

Only needs about 30 minutes in the decanter before it opens up, and then it's just what you want - a spectacularly detailed CdR that could go toe to toe with a lot of cote roties. This will age, but it will be hard to let it.

Bill & Crew - Offline #3 - One Penny Red: Blind. Soapy florals, garrigue, smoke and pepper. Lifts up a notch on the palate with beautiful vibrant fruit, a great acid line and some savory complexity in the background. Great base level from this producer.

Dark red, a big, masculine, powerful wine, ripe black fruits, roasted meat, beautifully balanced, grainy soft tannins, drank over few hours, decanted upon opening, long finish, v young still
Day 2 - kept half bottle & the nose was stunning, flying off the blocks with blue fruits, bubble gum & bacon, thick & mouth coating but very refined 92-93

Special CdR - blueberry, violets, charcoal, tangy tomato water - dense, layered, lengthy, energetic and balanced - emphatically checks a lot of boxes.
