Tuesday, January 16, 2024 - Didn’t love this, a bit out of balance, may be a little too much acidity, very tart. Cloying.

2/4/2024 10:46:00 AM - Going to drink this tonight. What it cloying (excessively sweet) or tart? Did you decant it?

2/4/2024 10:50:00 AM - no decant, cloying tartness. my take was wait a few more years although i'm not sure tartness will go away. for sure, decant it for a few hours if you can.

2/4/2024 8:41:00 PM - We decanted for 6 hours, not tartness, balanced acidity. I think your descriptor of "cloyness" is about the richness of this example. The wine is rich and deep, but not sweet which is what "cloy" is often used to describe. We thought his was integrated but fruit-forward, so right in line with the new-world style. We enjoyed with out homemade pepperoni pizza, so very much a food wine.
