Complex nose of spice and cacao. The palate is rich with good acidity and concentration. The palate has a mix of red and blue fruit, pepper, violets and oak spice. There is a slight dryness on the very long finish.

Opened for 45 minutes prior to pouring. Robust and expressive style with intricate blend of Syrah, Graciano, Petit Sirah, Grenache, Mataro and Viognier.

Short decant. Dark purple with a nose of violets. Black and blue ripe fruits, ground pepper and dried herbs. Full bodied, smooth, rich and concentrated. Balanced with fine grained tannins and a long long finish. I preferred the 2019 vintage over this one.

On the nose alone, this is hitting 96-97 at 3 hour decant. It will open up more on palate but it’s already so so delicious. Intense dark fruits, spice cake, firewood, meats, potpourri, vanilla and dried violets. Incredible balance, Viognier adds a much needed zing, lifting acidify, chalky tannins on long finish. This will improve more for sure. Cheers

Was reticent to try such a young Saxum but after seeing the community tasting notes figured I’d give it a shot. 4 hour decant and drank over 2 days. Beautiful wine. Super unique blend. Finish goes on and on. This is a stunner. Drink with air or hold.

best wine I've had this year and it is already June..I may be a little prejudice but this may be the perfect red wine..hits all the buttons..Saxum just has it right and is consistently outstanding!

This is drinking beautifully. One hour decant was perfect. Juicy red fruits, medium finish. Drank mostly on its own, then paired with pasta with mushrooms and red sauce. Would pair with red meats or vegan meals, quite versatile. Want to open another bottle now but will wait a year or two.

A very good wine from this region. Drank over 2 nights. Due to the wine open up, night 2 was incredible. this wine can be drank today, or held for 10 years. I would think in 2025, this wine would be at its perfection. Cheers

Not as ready to drink as my last bottle although got better with 3-4 hours of air. Ripe cherry, strawberry, raspberry, cocoa, cinnamon, clove, cedar, roasted meats, medium+ tannins and a great length. I’d wait 2 years on this and still give a 2 hour decant.

Big, deep, lush and plush but with structure and power. Pours a bright purple, with a rich nose of blue fruit, pepper, and earth. Syrah is front and center on the nose. The palate is huge blue fruit, layered with leather, pepper and tannin. It's early here. Will wait a year or two before trying my other bottle.

Fully saturated colors, flavors and aromas. Violets, black and blue fruits, and a savory, grilled, peppered meatiness. The palate is luxurious with great structure, and a lengthy, persistent finish. Very well managed ripeness.

Decanted 6hrs. Quick holiday note: Still tight after a long decant but showing a good sneak preview of what is to come. Loaded with exotic (Indian spices) edges to the wines core of dark blackberry fruit makes for a most wonderful experience. I will give my 2nd bottle at least 5 to 10 more years

From memory: Intense, layered, aromatic, deep cherry fruit, coffee, chocolate, 15.9% alcohol but containing it, well contained by a crisp tannic acid base. Delicious with spiced roast goose.

Ready from the start but actually began to close off as the hours went by. Initially very smooth with candied/juicy black fruit and mineral accompanied by only edges of heat. As time went on it remained drinkable but noticeably more structured and closed. It’s open enough now (more so than prior years at this stage) but my guess will close off in the next month and sleep for 3-4 years.

Ultimately, this is pure and carefully concentrated. Decanted for an hour, this goddess opened up over many hours quite well. Enchanting red fruit elixir, Pau d’Arco tea, gravel, blonde coffee and boysenberry, with many wild flowers. Surprisingly approachable; nicely open for business. Sweet, cashmere tannins: the texture is all there. Decant our wait a few years. Drink 2024 - 2039.

Wow...the Runaways said it best: Cherry bomb! Also hints of red licorice, mineral and more cherry!

Didn’t love this, a bit out of balance, may be a little too much acidity, very tart. Cloying.

Usual exceptional quality here. Needs long decant. It helps disguise the alcohol. Robust black fruit, silky tannins, but dense across the palate.

Rich, deep cherry and plum aroma. Like putting your nose in a jam jar. Dark fruits, some oak, and a bit of pepper on the finish.

Black fruit, cocoa with a long linger. Big and bold but not the normal smash of pepper common in Syrah-based wines.
Enjoyed with roasted lamb, potatoes, and Girl and the Goat green beans.
