Right now, both the nose and palate are pretty tightly coiled and a leathery note dominates both, with some herbaceous accents and a savory saline component. The fruit reads sort of generically tart and red, but that seems to be more a function of youth. There is excellent acid and, relative to Beaujolais, there is nice tannic structure. Given time, I think this will blossom into something special.
