Thursday, May 27, 2010 - Dark garnet red color - very attractive. Leather, rare steak, and overripe black fruits on the nose. Notes of overripe plums and blackberries, at brief moments almost cloyingly sweet, with rare steak juices. Plenty of barnyard with hints of tar and coffee dregs. The finish lasts a good 30+ seconds and showcases the rare steak juice and overripe black fruits on a creme de cassis background. My best (and fairly uncertain) guess is that this will drink much smoother in about 6-8 years but will probably also be much less interesting.
