Dark garnet red color - very attractive. Leather, rare steak, and overripe black fruits on the nose. Notes of overripe plums and blackberries, at brief moments almost cloyingly sweet, with rare steak juices. Plenty of barnyard with hints of tar and coffee dregs. The finish lasts a good 30+ seconds and showcases the rare steak juice and overripe black fruits on a creme de cassis background. My best (and fairly uncertain) guess is that this will drink much smoother in about 6-8 years but will probably also be much less interesting.

Same flavors present here as mentioned in the earlier reivew, but to my taste, the result of a bit too much time between bottle and glass. Still, quite a complicated, interesting raisined wine, but don't keep it much longer before drinking. Wish that I'd tried it in 2007.

Funky! - On the nose a almost raisined creme de casis and rotting dates and vegtables (in a good way). The palate has mild tannins with more of the flavours mentioned in the nose. the finish is about 10 seconds in length and finishes with angular tannins.

For $10, the 2004 Monastrell Tinto is amazing. An extraordinary bouquet of raspberries, blueberries, and vanilla jumps from the glass of this dense, medium to full-bodied, luscious, fruit-filled, seamlessly constructed effort. It is ideal for consumption over the next several years. The good news is that 2,500 cases are exported to the U.S. This estate is one of the top discoveries of all my tastings. Black fruits on the nose. Strong coffee notes with cassis dominant on the end palate and finish.

Corked and or oxidized, definitely past its prime. Shop replaced with a 2005.

Good bottle. Rich without being too heavy or fruity.

Decanted for 30 minutes. Very pleasant, absolutely fine. Got better in the glass. Give it some time. Will probably buy some more
