Saturday, April 15, 2023 - A dry white dinner wine from a fine producer of Barsac.
On nose: nettles, stony minerality and a ghost of gooseberry.
On palate: all above flavour notes firing on all cylinders, with wet wool( in a good way) greenish pineapple, blanched almonds, sea salt, oak is evident, but not persistent....notes of quinine ( reminiscent of Ch.Carbonnieux blanc) on the clean finish.
This wine has a civilized 12.5% alcohol, and plays well with oysters, shrimp and Dover sole.
100 % Sauv Blanc.....will buy again.
