Saturday, January 7, 2023 - Third bottle of four. Continue to rate this 90/91, which is a great score for the price, but well shy of some pro ratings. For me, the electricity/tension and acid are too low for a higher score. But still great value and no regrets.

1/7/2023 6:02:00 PM - Nice note. I feel the same way about this. Good but didn’t really impress. Not expensive but there are other Germans in a similar price range that are more exciting. I liked the 19 Juffer Fass 4 by Richter much more.

1/8/2023 6:09:00 AM - That's a fair point and in general, I agree. I think, however, there is some evidence that it's not just that this wine is somewhat shut down. A number of us had it near release and it was again, good but not excellent. Also, back, near release, when I had it, I also had the Juffer Fass 4 which was showing as superb. I also had a number of other 19s around that time which weren't shut down either. So all this leads me to think that this is simply a good, not great Kabinett - not exciting enough to be top level.
