91 Points

Friday, July 9, 2021 - Italian white wine from Alto Adige - Südtirol: Pinot Grigio. Fermentation, malolactic fermentation and development on the lees in barrique-tonneaux. Assemblage after nearly a year, followed by at least six months of further maturation in stainless-steel tanks. 14,5 % alcohol.

Beautiful light golden color.

Delicious aromas of sweet oak, peach, tropical fruits and white flowers. Vanilla in the background. Powerful flavors of oak, tropical fruit, vanilla, peach and minerals.

Dry. Full body. Medium acidity. Very good balance. Good structure. Some complexity.

Short finish with white flowers and vanilla.

A very solid and enjoyable wine. Very powerful and intense with clean flavors. There is a lot of oak, in my taste it brings character to the wine, but I imagine that it’s not on everyone’s plate. On the negative side the structure could be better and there is room for much more complexity. I imagine the wine will improve with age. 91/100.
