Saturday, October 17, 2009 - Strong nose of olives and slight fecal odors. Reminds me of right bank Bordeaux. Flavors very heavy. Port-like. Alcoholic. Not altogether unpeasant, but a little heavy for my style. Served with Mancheco Spanish cheese, a textbook recommendation, but I thought a the wine was a little heavy for the cheese. But I am not a good judge of red wine and cheese combinations, because of my slight anaphylactic reactions to these combinations (burning of tongue). I need to stick to combinations of red meat and big reds. I also have little experience with Spanish wines.
