Friday, June 13, 2014 - Wow, a perfect bottle of this wine! Quite faded on the edges but a good ruby color at the core. Has an incredible old nose of soft cherries, horse leathers and crushed Autumn leaves. On the palate, it is so open and giving with flavors of sweet, dank cherries and old forest decay. It is soft and subtle but with a great side of the tongue intensity. Not as complex or intense as younger Burgundy but it is sooo smooth and silky at this stage. The finish has a bit of a burnt wood character. Fascinating to taste this. Beau Rivage, Geneva 6/14.
