2018 Realm Cellars The Bard

Community Tasting Note

Thursday, February 11, 2021 - My first note was maybe too optimistic. Yes this is too young but surprisingly inspires no joy at this stage regardless of time open. Muted flavors, harsh tannins and high acid. Not what I want in an under $100 Napa blend. The nose however remains potent and delivers. Hoping time helps.

My bottle a couple of months ago was best its first hour open then grew more harsh with more time open. These are not generally open for business early like the '16s were. Maybe in another year?

8/16/2021 6:43:00 AM - K&L Wine had these on sale via insiders advantage at I believe $95. The release price direct from Realm is $110 so not sure why finding it under $100 would be that surprising.
