90 Points

Sunday, September 21, 2014 - Impressive. Still very youthful and slightly tight. Really lovely sweetness of fruit, although a hint of caramel. Great balance. More backbone and structure than other volnays I have drunk, perhaps a reflection of the reputation of this plot. Overall, enjoyable.

Clos du Château des Ducs is the most tender, quickest-maturing of Lafarge's Volnay premiers crus, at least until Lafarge subsequently acquired some Caillerets.
