Friday, April 7, 2023 - A few days in Napa with fellow CT'r Cristal2000: Light and “feminine” (though I typically don’t like using that word), with an elegance that easily rolls along the palate with black cherry water, cinnamon stick, and muddled strawberry flavors. Finishes full and round, with the same grace it begins. Picks up weight and body with air. Drinks fine now with just a bit of swirling in the glass.

4/9/2023 7:46:00 AM - I will look for some of this. All of the 1er Cru’s I bought a few years ago for $70-$80 are all now $125 plus it seems. Makes StE look like an even bigger bargain. For $125 I can buy Clos Fourtet, Cannon la Gafelliere & other top StE. I think Burgundy is pricing itself out of my cellar. I’m not going to pay $100-$125 for Villages Burgundy. I’ll drink OR PN instead.

4/9/2023 9:39:00 AM - I'm with you! I've been feeling lately like wine in general is pricing itself out of my cellar! With all that, it's probably best to forget about Lafarge beyond the village level. Their prices are pretty wacky high at the 1er level.
