Thursday, January 24, 2013 - I don't remember if I had this on release, but the Wurzgarten is seared in my memory for its polish and grace. This seems like a blockbuster in comparison but I can't say yet whether that's the site or the age talking. Regardless, it is rich and surprisingly broad-shouldered without quite crossing the line into auslese territory. It also has a laser-like acidic spine. I like how it's maintaining its structural freshness even as the fruit flavors are starting to take on a paler, more developed tone.
