Saturday, March 24, 2007 - This was really singing 90 minutes after being splash decanted. Initially rather herby and leafy the nose developed a deep tobacco scent against a backdrop of cranberry that was rather left-bank Bordeaux like. The palate was much more rustic though. While it showed some tannins, it did still show a little fruit too and a nice savoury lick in the finish. This was much better with food (in this case a Spanish-style stew with Chorizo). After around 4 hours, the finish became a little drying, suggesting this is one to drink sooner rather than later.
