- Garnet color and aromas of tobacco, hay/straw, blackberry, black currant and smokey. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, fig, black pepper, mushroom and smokey with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.

Probably sitting in the optimum drinking window right now - the fruit and structure and balanced off against each other wonderfully well right now. Serve this blind and I swear 9 people out of 10 would say it was a Left Bank Bordeaux - lots of cedar, leather, mature fruit. Decent stuff, but I was a bit disappointed that it tasted so similar to Bordeaux.

A little too bretty to begin though this subsided with time. Still, a lovely drink and deliciously savoury with a wild edge and a spicy kick to the finish that slightly creeps up on you. What a great wine.

This was really singing 90 minutes after being splash decanted. Initially rather herby and leafy the nose developed a deep tobacco scent against a backdrop of cranberry that was rather left-bank Bordeaux like. The palate was much more rustic though. While it showed some tannins, it did still show a little fruit too and a nice savoury lick in the finish. This was much better with food (in this case a Spanish-style stew with Chorizo). After around 4 hours, the finish became a little drying, suggesting this is one to drink sooner rather than later.
