Friday, July 11, 2008 - Great Chinon. Leanish compared to bordeaux right bank wines as this has no merlot. However, excellent ripeness for a Chinon. (13.5%) Solid fruit and and great balance. Superb food wine. Some strong tanins at first opening but they smooth out with some air (1 hr). Could age a few years and still get better. One of the better Chinons I have had and I very much like his style of elegance and balance compared to other producers such as Joguet. A definite rebuy from K&L at $18.00.
