Friday, November 17, 2023 - Comprised of 95% Grenache and 5% Mourvèdre, this deep ruby Southern Rhone has lots to offer. Loaded with dark bramble fruits, pepper-laced black cherries, bittersweet chocolate, Provençal herbs and loamy earth, it is medium-bodied, fresh, minimally oaked red with soft tannins and seamless alcohol (despite being listed as 15%). Dense in the middle and lengthy on the back end, this is a modern version of the appellation that should show well throughout the remainder of this decade. Sampled over three hours from a bottle that had been decanted through a Vinturi aerator, this showed best after the first two hours in carafe. Drink now-2030.
