Monday, April 4, 2022 - This limpid, straw-colored wine (sourced from multiple Napa Valley vineyards) is a worthy runner-up to its more esteemed estate-bottled sibling. Comprised of 100% Sauvignon Blanc that was aged for nine months in a combination of neutral oak barrels, concrete eggs and stainless steel tanks, it flaunts a bouquet of lemon verbena, white peaches, wet stones and dried herbs. Light-to-medium-bodied, crisply acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14.4%) and with minimal detectable wood, it has good mid-palate density and finishes medium-to-long. Although this could be considered as Crocker & Starr's "second sting" Sauvignon Blanc, it is a quality white that demonstrates the art of skillful blending. Drink now-2025.
