Sunday, December 24, 2023 - Very dark but a less saturated black than Syrah, possessing a degree of translucence. The palate is pleasantly refreshing, with cleansing tannins, and lightly savory, distinct from Syrah. It gained depth and flavor over 48 hours (good for cellaring?), shedding a trace of Irish tea bitters. In sum a good wine for meat and fat, and although not very fruity would add needed texture to overtly fruity Rhone varietals such as Grenache and Counoise.
