Very Good(-) I was looking for something that wouldn't be too assertive against a lentils dish with celery root, thyme, and mint. This worked really well. The wine is fairly light even though there are tastes of dark fruits. This is one of those pleasing food wines that belong in a cellar, even if the wine isn't the most complex or deep. Not a ton of fruit or structure and even a bit flat at times. That said, this was PnP and only about an hour and a half.

Very dark but a less saturated black than Syrah, possessing a degree of translucence. The palate is pleasantly refreshing, with cleansing tannins, and lightly savory, distinct from Syrah. It gained depth and flavor over 48 hours (good for cellaring?), shedding a trace of Irish tea bitters. In sum a good wine for meat and fat, and although not very fruity would add needed texture to overtly fruity Rhone varietals such as Grenache and Counoise.

Nice nose of ripe black cherry. Very interesting palate with lots going on. Fine acids and tannins, flavors more subtle - elements of cherry and plum - palate feels a bit closed, alcohol element (whatever it is) buried in the background. Let's see what some air brings... With some good Comté the palate is more evident. The acids, flavors and tannins remind of some good young-ish Italian wines. Will be looking forward to seeing where this goes with some cellar time. DAY 2: palate more open, get ripe plum flavors, very good balance with tannins and acids. Drying tannins on the long finish - this so reminds me of young Italians. Delicious.

I liked this a lot more than I was expecting. It reminded me of a carignane. Nice acidity, a little fruity, red fruit. Quite nice with the Mediterranean food we were having.

I agree with WinecenturyAZ. Light, tart, pomegranate, some acid. About what I expected. Decent but I don’t have to do this again.
