Saturday, February 24, 2024 - Base vintage 2018; 35% vin de reserve. 35/35/30 PN/C/PM. No disgorgment date but 4g/l dosage (labelled Brut, but could equally be Extra Brut). The QR code on the bottle goes to a broken link!

Anyway, this is a very good general purpose house fizz. The nose is fresh: saline, iodine. The palate is very nicely balanced: a crisp slightly citric entry, a broader mid-palate with Thai lime to the fore. The finish is clean, but, particularly with food, a little short.

For me this is a wine that works really well as an aperitif, but fades a little in the presence of food (sashimi and and rice rolls in this case - soy and a touch of wasabi overpowers the wine to some extent).

But for the ~US$36 that I paid this is definitely an occasional repeat buy as a straightforward, crisp, refreshing aperitif fizz. I'm vacillating between 89 and 90 as a score.
