Sunday, June 21, 2015 - The 2012 showed so well, so I thought I should pull an older one. Gave it a quick decant for sediment. Youthful color dark violet. Some secondary aromatics of truffle & earth, but loads of cracked pepper & plum as well. More clove-like spices on the palate with a strong menthol note. Blackberries & plums emerge quickly on the mid palate. Structure is still intact & this has years ahead of it. Developing Bordeaux- like qualities as it ages.
