Friday, August 14, 2015 - This was serious, terrific juice. It has been an age since I've had a Bandol and this made me resolve to change that. Dark color, clean profile, lots of tannins, good minerality with serious acidity, a touch of VA, and that wild Mourvèdre bouquet. Firm still with great intensity but no heaviness, medium bodied. Nice fruit but quite dry, blind I might have guessed Italian -- maybe a Super Tuscan -- given the high acidity (too high for the southern Rhone) and some slightly medicinal, mentholated notes. This is good now, but will continue to improve for at least another 5 years and might go even higher. Yum. Must get more. 92-93 pts.
