Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - Popped and poured, 57 F. Light ruby color. Aromatic nose of fresh red cherry, strawberry, earthy herbal and floral notes. Well integrated oak and alcohol, lively lovely acidity. Silky tannins with just a bit of grip. Cranberry and sweet bing cherry fruit on the palate, raspberry, spicy oak, clove, mineral and cedar notes on the palate. Long, lingering finish. Perhaps heresy, but, while not as elegant as the 2014 Cantina del Pino Ovello Barbaresco I had a few days ago, I enjoyed this very quaffable wine much more. Just entering its drinking window, looking forward to see how this develops over the next few years. Great QPR.
