Monday, September 17, 2012 - Pop and pour. Medium ruby color. Viscous legs. The initial nose has a medicinal/iodine quality that is reminiscent of a nice Burgundy. Initial palate is very bright and expressive - the Burgundian comparisons end here, the palate is pure Willamette Valley fresh fruit (mostly strawberries and a little cherry) and warm loam. Nice, unobtrusive acidic spine adds interest and contrast. Good ripe fruit, but this isn't as big and hot as a lot of '06's I've drank. Back end is a little pedestrian, but hey, it's a basic Willamette Valley from a big house. All-in-all clean, well-made, enjoyable. Nice bottle, and it's in a nice place right now.
