Sunday, June 7, 2009 - Nose of prunes and black olives, with a fair amount of dried figs and cedar box. On the palate, the initial dark prune gives way to leather and tar and a fairly long finish on wood. A nice acidity balances the still rather firm tannins. A beautiful wine that gains from just a few minutes in a decanter. Very food friendly.
