Wednesday, November 30, 2022 - (Imported by Vineyard Brands). Tiny 3 hectare vineyard, first planted in 1906. Fermentation 100% in barrel. Aged in 50% new and one-year-old barriques. 100% Roussanne. Organic viticulture.
________
Color: Medium straw.
Nose: This is closed and totally unevolved in late-2022. Aroma is shy with a touch of honeysuckle and lemon showing. No complexity yet.
Pal: It's more impressive here. Full body. Rich, lush, powerful front and mid palete. Intense concentration. Glyceral richness. Flavors of honey, camomile, and lemon confiture. Dry, sl phenolic finish. 14% alc. Lovely, lush balance, but could use more acidity.
92 pts: Now.
94-95 pts: potential.
Needs more time in bottle.
This will peak in its young, fresh phase in 2024-2025.
This will peak in its honied, harmonized, kiss of hazelnut, ultimate phase in 2030-35.
