Sunday, April 17, 2011 - Outstanding! Light golden color with small bubbles. Classic Vilmart spicy/citrus/nutty nose, perhaps even with a touch of forest floor lingering in the background. In the mouth: medium-full bodied with lemon citrus, tons of spice, chalk, and a toasty oakiness. Medium-long finish. Drinking beautifully already, but with plenty of opportunity for further growth over the next few years. Decidedly Vilmart in character and a great showing given the rather heinous 2001 vintage.
