Saturday, April 18, 2020 - Birth year wine for wife’s quarantine Birthday. Auction bottle, reputable company. Into neck. Very moldy under the foil. Cork is still sound but fully soaked. Color is ruby with only medium bricking. Nose is powerful. Plum, fennel, thyme, leather. This is still fresh, yet fully mature. There is still tannin! This is quite amazing. This evolved in the glass/bottle. It picked up more nutty and mushroom notes throughout the night, but the core of plum fruit remained. Really happy about how this turned out.
