Tuesday, January 2, 2024 - An incredible young Howell Mountain Cabernet, had to decant for 12 hours! Around hour 7 the room started to smell of wonderful Cabernet aromas it was really quite an experience even before pouring the first glass.

Dark berry, cassis, unsmoked tobacco, bitter chocolate, bay leaves, earthy moss and cayenne pepper. The palate is powerful and earthy with dark black currents, smoky cedar, crushed rocks and moss, the tannins are muscular yet refined and with a slight dusty mid-palate, the finish is savoury yet succulent. Always fresh throughout. An incredible young Howell Mountain, the tannins are incredibly special being both muscular yet refined at the same time. This needs time and I cannot emphasize enough about decanting for 12+ hours. 96++
