After half an hour in the glass the wine settled down a bit starting to display the vivid array of dark fruit and expressive tannins one expects to find in a good Barolo. Yet I lacked the classy Amaretto tones I love and always look for in these wines. Overall impression is positive but there is a slight lack of complexity which hopefully will emerge with some age.
