A very distinct black currant was the main fruit engine here, unusual for pinot (and Cristom for that matter) but it worked really well. The currant played nicely off exotic smorgasbord of sassafras and the like, all with the trademark low acidity. An individual wine of character and class that has plenty of gas in the tank. Excellent.
