  • This was best when first opened. Complex and concentrated fruit asnd earth. After a few hours tannin was more prominent.

  • This wine is both drinking and aging well. My notes from the evening are poor, but I agree largely with those from Dale M. who opened the same vintage just 11 months ago. Low acidity was the highlight of this bottling -- so smooth easy to drink, even without food. The dark fruit that I associate so much with Eola Hills was present and exactly where I like it to be -- not fresh-off-the-vine-fresh and not too aged -- and so full of life. I wish there were more left in the cellar.

  • Decanted about 90 min before we got this little gem. On point and aging splendidly. A very distinct black currant was the main fruit engine here, unusual for pinot (and Cristom for that matter) but it worked really well. The currant played nicely off exotic smorgasbord of sassafras and the like, all with the trademark low acidity. An individual wine of character and class that has plenty of gas in the tank. Excellent.

  • This pinot was delicious. Opened about 2 hours before drinking. This wine was well balanced with a nice cherry fruit and some secondary layers of earth.

  • Decanted 1 hr. Boy, this wine sure still remains one funky mo-fo! But all in a good way. The nose and palate carry a unique spice quality that’s hard to describe in terms of what you might actually find in a spice rack, but it’s very appealing nonetheless. The funk also has some patchouli, incense, and various other head shop merchandise. Very consistent with Cristom style too; rich, great definition of appealing red fruits, but never overdone, and very balanced, and persistent from start to finish. This is aging well, no clue how long this will hold, so go ahead and enjoy this fun and unique pinot today?
