Friday, May 20, 2011 - Second bottle from a six pack bought on release, and it's smoother, not as primary, slightly more evolved than that first bottle years ago, but it still needs years more in the cellar. Drank over three nights. On the first, plenty big, too big even, stacked with fruit and structure, bright acidity, but needs to relax. Lots of fine sediment swimming around. On the second night, the tannins have really clamped down, the palate shows like a cone of compressed fruit and energy just waiting to burst. It's not until the third night when the wine has calmed; no degradation, showing very pure and calm and enjoyable. Check again in three years. Should be great.
