Wednesday, July 19, 2023 - Supper at Fred's (Freds, Oxford Street, Sydney): From Coravin and magnum. A bit of sous bois with a touch of farmyard joins slightly riper black hued fruits; plums; berries; currants with a touch of leather. In the mouth it's impressively dense without being overtly tannic, leathery dark fruits to the fore. I think this is my first 1990 Bordeaux from magnum. Interesting experience compared to the single bottles. More fruit and concentration but less balance. That could, of course, just be the producer. Ho hum.
