Saturday, February 24, 2018 - Decanted 2 1/2 hours. Medium color with a thin clear rim. Lovely complex nose shows a cornucopia of sweet and Asian spices along with some high-toned notes of mint. The first palate impression is bold yet elegant and lithe with fresh flavors of red cherry, herbal tea and an interesting briar-y note--all focused by tart cherry acidity and ripe but evident tannins that carry the whole package into a very long and refreshing finish. Very fine. 94 pts. Drink now to 2023.
