Friday, January 28, 2005 - Still very dark ruby color with only a slightest hint of lightening. A very nice nose of cassis, blackberries, wood spice and tobacco. Some development in the form of secondary characteristics (smoke cedar, hint of leather). Despite the bad year, I can't detect any green notes in this wine. Surprisingly full and dense on the palate. Perhaps this is not surprising considering the concentrators used at Las Cases... Nevertheless, it does not seem to have yielded an unbalanced wine. Lovely palate with still some tannin to resolve. In the end, I blieve this will dry out, but it can surely go for a while. I would, however, drink them soon as this wine is drinking very well at the moment and I fear it will go downhill slowly. Of course not one of the greatest LLC's, but very enjoyable, especially for the bargain price. Drink now to 2008
