Sunday, April 24, 2022 - The Bertheau wines are always described as being “whispers” but this ‘02 Amoureuses must be among the biggest, most powerful wine I have tasted from them yet! Lots of black cherry infused with root vegetables, smoked herbs and licorice. Poised, soft tannins with harmonious structure with dark cherry and red currant fruit today. Long and minty and while grandiose for Bertheau, this shows intensity of fruit and elegance at the same time! Hard to go wrong with Amoureses, though right?!? Should be 95+ with time!! Patience!!
