The Bertheau wines are always described as being “whispers” but this ‘02 Amoureuses must be among the biggest, most powerful wine I have tasted from them yet! Lots of black cherry infused with root vegetables, smoked herbs and licorice. Poised, soft tannins with harmonious structure with dark cherry and red currant fruit today. Long and minty and while grandiose for Bertheau, this shows intensity of fruit and elegance at the same time! Hard to go wrong with Amoureses, though right?!? Should be 95+ with time!! Patience!!

Deeply colored; reluctant brooding nose of black cherry, licorice, Asian spices; big and lush on the palate but an apparent restraint behind it all; not loud or blowsy at this point, more a coiled spring. Continues to slowly open in the glass. Chewy and warming finish. This needs several more years to really strut its stuff. Glad to have 4 more of these but will wait at least 3 years, more ideally 5 to try another.

A more savoury and rustic expression of Les Amoureuses with nutmeg, soy sauce, prunes, coffee beans and earth. Prefer his 02 Bonnes Mares on the side tonight.

Les Amoureuses and Empurau Dinner (Jade Palace): This was so very enjoyable. It had a beautiful nose, full of flowers, dried red cherries, more savoury earth and meat, and a little ginkgo nut and spice lilt at the edges. Very attractive, if not quite as perfumed as the 2010. The palate was lovely too, if a touch more rustic in structure, with slightly powdery tannins and bright acidity framing pure, but rather simple notes of cherries, dried flowers and spice. Just a bit hollow on the back palate, leaning out into bittersweet herbs. Otherwise, drinking nicely and absolutely enjoyable.

Wine meet - Lars @ St Paul de Vence: Great Amoureuses - totally living up to its pedigree and reputation. This is just so elegant, velvetly soft but with power underneath, great complexity, vibrant and so tasty. It was the wine of the night - also against a couple of Musigny's.

We had Richebourg from Romanee Conti 2006 and Chambolle Musigny 2010 Jacques Frederic Mugnier in a parelle tasting - and what and experience - three amazing wines - that went perfect together - this one was great - you really got the terroir - this is Amoureuses - great acidity and still a lot of fruit you also got some flowers ( I think violet ) - perfect balance - still this is a feminine wine. This is top rating - I am ending on 96

Flickinger Warehouse Tasting (Chicago, IL): This is an amazing Chambolle. Brilliant elegant, I think that the riper vintage plays towards the light touch of the Bertheau style very well. There are lovely florals here, as well as a large melange of red fruits. No sense of flab here; this is a very, very trim bottle of wine, thanks to acidity that is a bit surprising for the vintage. There's this 2008-like sense of crunchy red fruit here that I just love. A Burgundy very much to my taste.

Don't know whether it was over the hill or just a bad bottle but it was very unpleasant. Not just oxidized. I have one more bottle which will be approached with dread more than hope.

I love Bertheau. Opened and decanted for about 1 hour before drinking. An extremely feminine, super-open nose of red fruit and flowers (violets and honeysuckle), some apples, and just a little pepper. The palate is full of cherries and strawberries, sweet with some chambolle lean minerality and a nice balance of acidity. 30-second finish. I'm glad I have more bottles of this, but wish I had more still!

BB tasting (Daniels Home): Colour: Typical very light (watery strawberry red) in colour. Nose: Lovely perfumed mix of strawberry, red cherry, floral aromas, a bit of smoked meat and a hint of underbrush underlaid by a lovely sweetness. A hauntingly beautiful and super sexy, open nose. Palate: Appeals in a lovely "light" way after the two Palmers. Juicy but not in a big & overdone, but rather a crunchy way. Great, great acidity. Elegance & tension combined in a nice combo. Medium+ finish. Again very feminin like and with a lot of sex appeal. My WOTN.

Chambolle Night: Fine balance between spice and depth of fruit, elegance, fresh, fine finish with spice, perhaps lacking a bit in body. Some developmental notes, in the beginning of its drinking window.

Dark cherries, floral and spice aromas on the nose. Super rich and plush on the palate. Sweet red fruit, fine tannins and mouth watering acidity. Finish went on and on. Total crowd pleaser.

Some pretty, high pitched strawberry aromatics - very feminine/Amoureuses. A bit advanced versus expectations. Ripe but a little dirty and disjointed. Still, enjoyable enough.

开瓶红梅,酸度清亮,入口稍微有些闷,有些青椒,2.5小时后入口香辛料味道,大料八角肉桂,后期咖啡苦,但走下坡路,4.5小时干杯,酸度甜度都在,后部略有酒精灼热

Eksepsjonell vin; enormt elegant og flørtende. Lineær, på en positiv måte. Drikk neste flaske først om noen år.
