Wednesday, May 8, 2013 - Refined and tasty package of aged Barolo features, black tea, tar, rose water. Long and lingering, this bottle lives up to the reputation of the vintage. Some rate the -64 above the -61, Renato Ratti gives the -64 5/5 and Wasserman's Italy's Noble Wines (Second Edition 1991) regards the -64 "perhaps the best of the decade". According to INW Angelo Gaja considers the -64 overrated. My votes go for the -64 (not that anyone's probably interested).
