90 Points

Monday, June 4, 2007 - Popped and poured, consuming over a 2 hour period. This wine has a nose like a Barolo, with dried cherries, flowers, tar and some tea notes. Very odd for CM....the palate is more Musigny than CM, with very rich, sappy and concentrated flavors coating the tongue. There is a nice full velvety mouthfeel, moderate tannins and a touch of heaviness. The flavors are very old world, with no bright fruit notes and no sweetness to speak of, with a long lingering finish. Really well done, this should evolve positively for several years.
